This solid 79km route is a modified version of the Fairytale Route I have featured before but trims it down a bit for when you're looking for something under 100k. It takes you west, a bit south of Saint-Germain-en-Laye, through the fields and then loops back to Versailles for a classic finish.

Heading out from Le Peloton Cafe, you make your way to Bois de Boulogne. I quite like this route where you take the left bank until Pont Alma and then cut over the Bois through Trocadéro. It might seem like a busy route, but it features a ton of separated bike lanes, so it feels very safe. After cutting through the park, you climb up and snake your way through some small neighborhoods until you get to Forêt Domaniale de Marly. From there, you have around 10km of very quiet roads through the forest, with some sections closed to cars.

After the forest, you start making your way back towards Versailles. There is a section on D-30 that is a major road and does not have much shoulder, but if you are going during the morning or with a peloton, it's not a problem.

Continuing through the fields, you cut through some cute small villages and beautiful rolling farmland. As you approach Versailles, the roads get bigger and busier, but that's life. To help break up the big roads and city, the route takes you past the cemetery to Meudon to avoid the hustle of Sèvres. From there, it's standard issue: follow the quais to coffee!
